McNett® continues its mission to get kids outdoors by outfitting kids attending the North Cascades Institute (NCI) with outdoor gear.

As a part of our Take a Kid Outside initiative, we're pleased to report another donation of over $4,000 in outdoor gear to the North Cascades Institute’s gear locker . The gear will go towards NCI youth programs like Mountain School and Youth Leadership Adventures, which focuses on educating youth about outdoor stewardship and leadership.  So far, we've donated over $22,000 in outdoor equipment and gear to the NCI Gear Locker.

“We are so appreciative of McNett for being such a crucial supporter of Youth Leadership Adventures in the past few years,” said Amy Brown, Program Manager. “Thanks to McNett, we also have Gear Aid™ repair products and training to keep our equipment in great shape.”

The outdoor gear donated included tents, sleeping bags, water shoes, insulated rain boots and more. Additionally, our staff also held a repair clinic with Gear Aid supplies to fix used tents, boots and packs with the NCI Youth Leadership team. The repair clinic helped fix used gear from year’s prior and prep gear for the upcoming summer season.

All-in-all, we're just happy to know that more kids will have an opportunity to explore the outdoors that they would not have had otherwise. Thanks to NCI for everything you do and a big thanks to the entire staff here at McNett for lending your time, money and hearts to this terrific cause.
