Tips for Using Revivex Wash-In Water Repellent
Want a more eco-friendly waterproofing option? Looking for an easy method to add some waterproofing to your not so waterproof rain jacket? Revivex Wash-In Waterproofing is just what you need.
Before using any of our water repellents, it is essential that you begin by cleaning with a specialized cleaner, like our Revivex Pro Cleaner. Typically, an item is unable to repel water because there is a build-up of residue, dirt, smoke or body oils, which is preventing the repellent from doing its job. It is important that you begin by removing these residues first.
So how do you use Revivex Wash-In Water Repellent? There are two methods:
1) Front Loading Washing Machine
Select the delicate cycle with warm water and use Revivex Pro Cleaner as your detergent. Place 5 capfuls of Revivex Wash-In Water Repellent (1oz) per garment in the fabric softener department of your washing machine. Do not exceed the max fill. Do not select extra rinse. Start the cycle. Once cycle is completed, Tumble dry on Medium Heat until dry for maximum effectiveness.
2) Soak
Once the item is clean, fill a container with enough warm water to cover the item (about a gallon). Add 1oz of Revivex Wash-In Water Repellent. Submerge garment, knead to saturate all areas and soak for 10 minutes. Gently wring out garment and tumble until dry on the setting recommended by the manufacturer of the item (typically low/medium heat) for maximum effectiveness.
TIPS:
- Do not use more than 1oz per garment
- Always tumble dry with heat
- Only waterproof garments one at a time
